Chemical etching can be used to make your most challengingencoder disks. Slots can be as small as 1.2 times the thickness ofthe material. Therefore on .03thick material the openings can be assmall as .036. Etching can also create webs that are as small as60% of the material thickness. On a .03thick encoder disk the webscan be as small as .018wide.

Because our etching process dissolves the extra material, it doesnot add any extra stress to the metal. This will allow the disks tostay as flat as the material with which we started. Chemicaletching does not create any burrs on parts thus leaving no extraobstruction on the part.

 

The main materail we use is stainless steel imported fromJanpan, including SUS304, SUS306 etc.
